Yak The Kathmandu Kitchen: Reviews & Ratings
I have to say this is an amazing Indian food, I would say it stands up very well to others I’ve had in Europe and throughout the US. The samosas were perfectly cooked and had an excellent balance of flavor. The Chicken Vindaloo had the perfect level of spice. It was so good I had to force myself to stop eating. The Chicken Tikka Masala was also amazing. The favor was perfect. They can hit the spice levels exactly to what you order! The garlic naan was outstanding too. I would highly recommend this place. It’s worth the drive from Pensacola any-day!!!!
Food is really testy. If you are a spice lover, they have some serious spice food. I do not like the environment though. could be a little cleaner. Also services is neither good not bad. There is no service at all actually. Most of the time there was no one. you order the food by scanning a QR code and one person came out to give it to you. thats the only time I saw someone.
Affordable Indian food. Lamb chow mein was lacking in vegetables. But at 9.00. Hard to complain about. Nann was 2.50 for 2 large pieces. Saag paneer was delicious ordered mild. Normally I order medium. But after reading reviews I decided mild was correct. It was perfect.
THIS MEAL WAS PHENOMENAL!!!!!!! 1000000000/10!!!!!! SO SO YUMMY!!!! THIS WAS MY FIRST TIME TRYING THIS PLACE AND IM SO GLAD I DID!!!! my ONLY regret was not getting the beef saad SPICER!!! SO GOOD!!! TOTALLY RECOMMEND. EVER ITEM WAS GREAT! and i really appreciate the two different sauce options for the samosas!
In the words of another reviewer, the chicken korma is an "absolute banger". Great flavor, generous portions and great with some big delicious naan breads. I will say, proceed with caution if you venture to order spicy. I love spicy food but I probably should have went with medium. I'll add a picture but I had already eaten half.
After getting our marriage certificate notarized we wanted to eat something new. I’m so so happy that we came to Yak. We will be coming back every year. The food was delicious, and the hole in the wall environment was exactly what we wanted. You can order with a QR code at the table, and the mango lassi is a must have!
This is probably a family run restaurant. You can get Indian and Nepali cuisine here and my guess is that the Nepali cuisine would certainly be more authentic than their Indian entrees. The food here is very good value for money and is tasty although not arguably authentic in taste. Our order didn’t take long to arrive after we were seated. We tried their Veg Coconut Korma, Naan, Veg Fried Rice, and Veg Chowmein and liked the taste of all of them. The one thing that we would like to point out is that the restaurant really requires some serious cleaning, especially for the floor.
The food is always amazing and spot on to Nepali and Indian cuisine. The atmosphere and decorations make you feel like you are taken straight to Nepal. Although it may be a bit pricey, you get what you pay for with generous helpings and extra to take home. For the few people they have staffed at this place they do a wonderful job. Definitely recommend going and supporting our local Nepali business.
